POSITION: Lead Engineer

FUNCTION: Engineering

REPORTS TO: General Manager – Design and Drafting

PURPOSE: To become a key contributor to the design and engineering team of Accurate Fabricating. This team utilizes state-of-the art Autodesk 2D & 3D design software to create CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing data. The position is a key to providing technical data and support to project managers, manufacturing and installation teams to bridge the gap between design and product delivery.

This position requires an energetic, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to lead.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Embracing a leadership/mentoring role
  • Creation of CAD models, parts, assemblies, and drawings
  • Creation of Bill of Materials for all the assemblies
  • Create and/or support creation of installation manuals and other product documentation
  • Maintenance and rework of existing parts and assemblies to conform to current standards
  • Create fabrication part drawings.
  • Mentor others in the engineering group
  • Continuous improvement of self
  • Respect for people with communication, consideration and cooperation
  • Execute responsibilities according to lawful and ethical
  • Organize records and reference systems
  • Responsible for safety and ensuring best practices are followed
  • Define and align goals with departmental goals then ensure regular performance feedback is completed through formal performance reviews

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Mechanical engineering degree, EIT or P.Eng. preferred
  • Advanced training and ability in Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD
