POSITION: Production Supervisor / Foreman

REPORTS TO:  Production Manager

DESCRIPTION: Excellence, not average is your measure. In your role as the Foreman you will have the primary responsibility for the overall daily activities or the production staff. You will ensure production requirements are met in a cost effective manner while maintaining production and quality standards in a safe and rewarding work environment. As a hands-on manager, you are always willing to spend time on the plant floor. You are a confident leader who can share responsibility, hold people accountable and frequently demonstrate your proven ability to recognize and capitalize on the strengths of individuals and the team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enforce production schedule for on time delivery, accuracy, and quality. Informing production staff of priorities for production optimization. Maximize productivity and quality.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication to sales and engineering and scheduling through active participation in weekly production meetings
  • Works collaboratively with Manufacturing Manager by implementing and effectively managing capacity planning and maintaining accurate delivery schedules which includes effective work station management, accurate and timely labor reporting, accurate resource availability and the resolution of bottle neck conditions.
  • Production Personnel Management: Hire production staff when necessary. Provide constructive employee feedback. Conduct formal performance evaluations on a regular basis. Offer training and development. Terminate employment properly. Follow and enforce company policy and procedure manuals. Implement timely corrective action.
  • Promote workplace safety

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a People Management role.
  • Computer Skills. Experience using and MRP System
  • Foreman in heavy duty manufacturing or a closely related industry is and asset.
  • Journey man Ticket in welding or Red Seal Certification is an asset.
